Where Has My Mojo Gone?
By Allan Kenyon and Barbara Kenyon — Life Coaches
Mojo means finding the magic in what you do. It means having the inspiration, the confidence, and that special spark to live the life of your dreams. It means consistently feeling good about yourself.
Have you ever started your day by saying, “I feel as if my mojo is gone.” When your mojo is low, you begin to feel unfocused and unsure of yourself. This is not a great way to live.
Getting Your Mojo Back: You will never find your mojo by remembering the past or trying to live in the future. The past and future are not real. It’s what you think, feel, and do in this moment that will revive your mojo and get you back on track.
Questions to help you rev up your mojo now:
What do I appreciate in my life right now?
Take a sheet of paper and make a list, realizing that nothing is too small. We can even appreciate the challenges and problems we face for the positive lessons they teach us. Go ahead and start your list.
Does what I am involved in now nourish or deplete my mojo?
If it does not give you that special spark, change your attitude about it or leave it.
Is it easy for me to have some fun every day?
People with a strong mojo experience fun in each day. They schedule fun times on every to-do list.
What should I eliminate when my mojo is low?
If you are feeling low on mojo, eliminate focusing on the negative news of the day. Stop zoning out in front of the TV or the computer. What you see and hear in the media can be a mojo killer.
Do I associate with the best?
Spend time with people whose mojo cup is full. Be with people who motivate you, uplift you, want the best for you, and who are just fun to be around.
Am I adventurous?
Shake your life up a bit and feel your mojo soar. Do something that is totally unexpected. Be spontaneous. Do something that you’ve always wanted to do, but hesitated to do it.
Since what we say to ourselves expands, here are some self talk affirmations by author Jack Canfield that will nourish your mojo and ignite that spark. By repeating these statements at the beginning and end of each day, you will begin to feel your positive power grow. It has been proven that this process works, even if you initially doubt that it will.
“My life is abundant in every way!” “I am successful in all that I do!” “My life is filled with love and beauty!” “I am grateful for each experience in my life!” ”I am excited to be alive!” “I can do anything!” ”I make a difference in this world!”
Making small life changes in your thinking can release the magic of your mojo. You will then begin to feel more energy and enthusiasm about yourself and your future.
“The game of life is the same as boomerangs. Our thoughts, deeds, and words return to us, sooner or later, with astounding accuracy.” —Florence Shinn
